Katherine Carter Woods, 58, of 730 Glenwood Avenue died Wednesday, March 22, 2000 in Buffalo, N.Y.
Her funeral will be at 11 a.m., Wednesday, March 29 at Nebo Baptist Church with the Rev. L. G. Bland presiding. Burial will follow at Mt. Nebo Baptist Church Cemetery. Harrison Funeral Home is handling arrangements.
Survivors include brother, James Henderson Carter of Troy; sisters, Mattie M. Haynes of Troy, Mary J. Reid of Boston, Mass., Betty J. Carter of Troy; nephew, Willie C. Haynes of Boston, Mass.; sister-in-law, Catherine Johnson Carter of Troy; niece Greta E. Carter Ballard of Troy; nephew, Antonio H. Carter of Troy; and a host of grandnieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
She was born on Feb. 8, 1942 in Pike County to the late Mr. and Mrs. Lem and Aremiller Stevens Carter. She attended Pike County Schools. She attended Mt. Nebo Baptist Church. She enjoyed sewing and reading.
Harold R. Jordan
Harold R. Jordan, 72, of 3608 Henderson Highway in Troy died at his home on Sunday, March 26, 2000.
His funeral will be at 2 p.m., Tuesday, March 28 at Goshen Baptist Church with the Rev. W.O. Sanders presiding. Burial will follow at Hillcrest Cemetery in Goshen. Dillard Funeral Home of Troy in handling arrangements.
Survivors include wife, Ora Mae Jordan of Troy; daughter, Jacqueline Sport of Luverne; son, Hiram Ray (Buck) Jordan of Pintlala; daughter, Joanne Hughes of Montgomery; grandchildren, Michael Lance (Micky) Norman of Luverne; Tara Brooke Norman of Luverne, Caroline Denise (Dee) Jordan of Pintlala, Christopher Brent (Chris) Jordan of Pintlala, Joshua Lee (Josh) Hughes of Montgomery; brothers, Willie D. Jordan of Fortson, Ga., Billy Joe Jordan of Columbus, Ga.; sisters, Mary Lou Allen of Columbus, Ga., and Marion Wilson of Prattville.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Goshen Baptist Church.
Visitation was held from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m., Monday, March 27 at Dillard Funeral Home of Troy. The body will lie-in-state at the church 30 minutes prior to service.
