Betty Boyd

Betty Boyd, 90 of Atlanta, died Jan. 25, 2000.

A memorial service was held at 3 p.m., Thursday, Feb. 3 in Cathedral Towers.

She is survived by a nephew, Mell Boyd Fletcher, of Collinsville, Va. and by many other loving friends.

She was a retired secretary having worked for Life Magazine, Saturday Evening Post, and Sports Illustrated, and as a private secretary to a partner in a prominent local law firm. She had lived in Atlanta for many years, but was born in Troy. She was the daughter of Mrs. Ida Richey Boyd and Mr. Joseph A. Boyd. She was preceded in death by her sisters, Mrs. Margaret Boyd (Robert B.) Sears, and Mrs. Ann Richey Fletcher. Her body was bequeathed to Emory University School of Medicine. She had lived at Cathedral Towers for the past 20 years. She was a member of Peachtree Presbyterian Church.

Any memorial gifts should be made to the Heart Fund at Crawford W. Long Hospital.

Daniel J. Berry

Daniel J. Berry, 63, of Rt. 1 Box 37 in Brundidge died Friday, Feb. 18, 2000 at his home.

His funeral was graveside at 9 a.m., Saturday, Feb. 19 at Lakeview Cemetery with minister Randall Myers presiding. Dillard Funeral Home of Brundidge is handling arrangements.

He was preceded in death by a brother, Grover Berry.

Survivors include wife, Marjorie A. Berry of Brundidge; daughter, (Donnie) Campbell of Brundidge; son, Michael Daniel Berry of Brundidge; grandson, Chris Berry; sister, Maunell (Leonard) Shiver of Brundidge; mother, Louise W. Shiver of Brundidge; nieces, Dana (Josh) Ainsworth, Amber (Henry) Shellman; great-niece, Courtney Ainsworth; and great-nephew, Hunter Ainsworth.

Pallbearers will be Leonard Shiver, Wayne Thrash, Chris Berry, Donnie Campbell, Jody Senn and Michael Campbell.

Visitation was from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m., Friday, Feb. 18 at Dillard Funeral Home in Brundidge.

Frances Skins

Frances Skins, 73, of Skipperville and formerly of Troy, died Friday, Feb. 18, 2000 at Dale Medical Center.

Survivors include children, Judy A. Tarter of Blane, Wash., Timothy R. Griffin of Mobile, Frazier P. Griffin of Pensacola; and several grandchildren.

Vera Mae Fuller Foster

Vera Mae Fuller Foster, 66, of 115 John Lewis Drive in Troy died Thursday, Feb. 17, 2000 at her residence.

Her funeral will be at 2 p.m., Wednesday, Feb. 23 at Old Mt. Zion Missionary Baptist Church in Goshen with the Rev. Julius Buskey and Elder McCloud presiding. Burial will follow in the church yard cemetery. Harrison Funeral Home is handling arrangements.

Survivors include children, Jimmy Dixon, Deborah Fuller, Carol (Willie) Flowers all of Troy, Dorothy Foster of Goshen, Dessie (Nathaniel) Mahone of Jamica, N.Y., Dean Fuller of Detroit, Mich., Alfonza Williams of Pa., Ronnie Kennedy of Newark, N.J., Dexter Adams of Ft. Lauderdale, Fla.; sisters, Jeradine (Burley) Manson, Mary Barnes of Warren, Ohio, Helen Fuller of Chicago, Ill.; Annie L. McWay of Memphis, Tenn., Annie V. McBride of Detroit, Mich.; three sisters-in-law; one brother-in-law; niece; Vicki Fuller of Troy; friend, Mattie Berry; several nieces, nephews, cousins and many friends.

Pallbearers will be friends of the family.

Floralbearers will be friends of the family.

She was born on Nov. 25, 1933 in Pike County to the late Jocephus and Mary Stuart Fuller. She attended Pike County Schools. She was preceded in death by her husband, Willie Foster. She was a housekeeper. She attended the Church of Jesus Christ in Troy.

Visitation was from noon until 6 p.m., Tuesday, Feb. 22 and the body will lie-in-state from 1 p.m. to 2 p.m. on Wednesday, Feb. 23.

Eloise Hester

Eloise Hester, 74, of Rt. 3 Box 47 on Needmore Road in Troy died Sunday, Feb. 20, 2000 at her home following a lengthy illness.

Her funeral will be at 2 p.m., Tuesday, Feb. 22 at the Chapel of Dillard Funeral Home in Troy with the Rev. Les Lee presiding. Burial will follow at Pleasant Hill Cemetery in Troy.

Survivors include, daughter and son-in-law, Debby and Ricky Penn of Troy; sons and daughters-in-law, Terry and Sara Hester of Banks, Ricky and Kim Hester of Troy; grandchildren, Bo Penn, Christy Hester, Bubba Hester, Stevie Hester, Courtney Hester; great grandchildren, Breanna Penn, Clayton Hester, Kassidy Davis, and Mathew Hester.

Pallbearers will be Alphus Adams, Bubba Hester, Stevie Hester, A. C. Mehaffey, Jimmy Oliver, and Bo Penn.

Visitation was from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m., Monday, Feb. 21 at Dillard Funeral Home in Troy.

Frankie Lamar Bailey, Jr.

Frankie Lamar Bailey, Jr., 33, of Bullock County, died Sunday, Feb. 20, 2000 at Jackson Hospital in Montgomery.

Private services will be held at a later date.

Survivors include, parents, Frankie and Joann Bailey of Mexico Beach, Fla.; sister, Donna (Eddie) Paramore, of Goshen; brother, Dwayne Bailey of Mexico Beach, Fla.; nieces, Jessica and Jennifer Paramore; grandfather, Gene (Jo) Bailey, of Shelby County; great-grandmother, Charlene Davis of Helena; aunt, Amalio (Robert) Auld of Inverness, Fla.; cousins, Kevin Auld and Michael Auld, Fla., John and Ben Auld of Mass.
