Elvester P. Wall, 85, of Opp died Sunday, Feb. 6, 2000.

Her funeral will be at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday at Wyatt Funeral Home. Burial will be at the Antioch Cemetery in Coffee County. Wyatt Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Visitation will be from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. Tuesday at Wyatt Funeral Home.

Survivors include: one daughter, Judy Howze of Opp; two sisters, Eva Medlock of Kinston and Vera Mitchell of Opp and one grandson, Mark Howze of Ocoee, Fla.

James Rex Griffin

James Rex Griffin, 79, of Troy died Sunday, Feb. 6, 2000 in Panama City, Fla.

His funeral will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday in the Dillard Funeral Home Chapel in Troy with the Rev. Otis Derrah officiating. Burial will be at Green Hills Memorial Park in Troy. Dillard Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Visitation will be Tuesday from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. at Dillard Funeral Home.

Survivors include: wife, Betty F. Griffin of Troy; three daughters and sons-in-law, Judy Tarter of Vancover, Canada, Lisa and Dave Goodson of Tucker, Ga. and Kim and Mike Moore of LaGrange, Ga.; two sons and daughters-in-law, Timothy Rex and Nancy Griffin of Daphne, Frazier Paul Griffin of Pensacola, Fla.; sister, Sara Knight of Troy; two brothers, Robert Griffin and Braxton Griffin, both of Troy; six grandchildren; three great-grandchildren.

Cindy Connell Davis

Cindy Connell Davis, 52, of Troy died Saturday, Feb. 5, 2000 at UAB Medical Center in Birmingham.

Her funeral will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday in the chapel of Dillard Funeral Home Chapel of Brundidge with the Rev. Billy Stephenson officiating. Burial will be at Brundidge City Cemetery. Dillard Funeral Home of Brundidge is in charge of arrangements.

Members of the Pike County Sheriff’s Department will serve as pallbearers.

Survivors include: mother, Juliette Connell of Pike Manor; three sisters and brothers-in-law, Susan Childers of Montgomery, Becky and William Hall of Macon, Ga. and Julie and Gary Beam of Victoria; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Joe and Cathy Connell of Brundidge and Jimmy and Cornelia Connell of Banks; several nieces and nephews and other close relatives.

She was preceded in death by her father, Alco James Connell.

Ruth Bell Townsend

Ruth Bell Townsend, 87, died Wednesday, Feb. 2000 at Edge

Regional Medical Center.

Her funeral was Monday, Feb. 7, 2000 at 11 a.m. at New. Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church in Linwood with the Rev. L. G. Bland officiating. George F. Grubbs Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

Friends of the family served as pallbearers and floralbearers.

Born on Nov. 7, 1913 in Pike County, Mrs. Townsend was born to the late Simon and Carrie Thomas.

She was a member of New. Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church and a singer with the Seven Shapes Singers.

Survivors include: four children and their spouses, R. J. Townsend and Rosetta of New York, N.Y., Carrie and Willie C. Etheridge of Troy, James and Mildred Townsend of Detroit, Mich. and Rubie and Jewel Townsend of Troy; sisters, Seneva and Millie Lee, Mozell Johnson, Mae Charles Curry, Georgia Mae Pennington and Lorene Shipman; brothers, James, Alonzo and Obie Thomas; 11 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; five great-great-grandchildren; a host of nieces and nephews; other relatives and friends.
