Fannie L. Cowles, 96, died Jan. 29, 2000 at her home in Lakeland, Fla.

Her funeral will be graveside at 11 a.m., Wednesday, Feb. 2, 2000 at Green Hills Memorial Park with Minister Randal Myers presiding. Burial will follow at Green Hills Memorial Park. Dillard Funeral Home in Troy is handling arrangements.

Survivors include son Thomas D. Cowles, Jr.; seven grandchildren, Claire Sawyer, Carol Nunnelee, Fan Morrison, Kay Cato, Dewitt Cowles, William Cowles, Russell Cowles; eight great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Dr. Thomas D. Cowles. She was born in Troy on Jan. 23, 1904. She was a kindergarten teacher for 13 years and a volunteer for the American Red Cross. She moved to Lakeland 22 years ago. She was a member of the Edgewood Church of Christ.

Visitation will be held from 10 a.m. until 10:50, Wednesday, Feb. 2 at Dillard Funeral Home in Troy.
