Local offices plan Christmas schedules

Troy City Hall will be closed Thursday, Dec. 23, Friday, Dec. 24 and will reopen Monday, Dec. 27 for regular business hours. The solid waste pick-up schedule will be a little different this week. A regular route will be run Thursday, Dec. 23, and Friday’s route will also be picked up on Thursday. The landfill will reopen Monday Dec. 27.

Brundidge City Hall will close at noon Thursday, Dec. 23 and will remain closed until Monday, Dec. 27. Thursday and Friday’s garbage route will be picked up on Thursday.

The Pike County Courthouse will close Wednesday, Dec. 22 and will reopen at its regular time Monday, Dec. 27. Pike County Solid Waste will run its regular route Thursday and will pick up Friday’s route in Brundidge on Thursday.

Any last minute banking will have to be done before Christmas Eve at noon. Colonial Bank, Regions Bank, Troy Bank and Trust, SouthTrust and First National Bank of Brundidge will close at noon Friday, Dec. 24 and reopen for regular business hours on Monday, Dec. 27.

The Troy Post Office will be open Christmas Eve until 5 p.m., but will be closed Christmas Day. Express mail will still be delivered from the Troy Post office on Christmas Day for last-minute Christmas deliveries. The Brundidge Post Office will close at 4:30 p.m.; the Banks Post Office will close at 4 p.m.; and the Goshen Post Office will close at 11 a.m.

The Messenger office will also be closed Friday, Dec. 24 and will reopen Monday, Dec. 27 at its regular time.

The regular publication schedule will remain uninterrupted, with The Messenger printing a newspaper on Friday and on Sunday.
