Troy Rotarians are busy selling tickets and making plans for their First Annual Rotary Ball Dec. 4.

The formal event will be held at the Troy Country Club and begins at 8 p.m.

Tickets are $100 a couple or $50 for individuals, said Carol Franks, the club’s director of communications. All of Pike County is invited to attend.

The ball will feature hors d’oeuvres, cash bar and music provided by the Moonlighters Orchestra, Franks said. A champagne breakfast will be served at 10 p.m., and the dance will end at 11 p.m.

"The Rotary Ball will kick off the holiday season for many people and give them a chance to dress up," she said. "We hope people will come out to have a good time, and this will turn into being our biggest fundraiser of the year."

The proceeds from Rotary Ball ticket sales will be donated to charities Troy Rotary Club supports, Franks said. The group’s philanthropies include Rotary International Living and Learning Center at Troy State University, American Heart Association, Camp Asca, American Cancer Society’s Relay for Life and other local causes.

"You can have a good time and know the money goes to a good cause," she said. "This is our way of giving back to the community."
