A Ramer man was killed Tuesday night when the tractor trailer truck he had been driving rolled over him.

The accident happened on Pike County Road 1230, which is 15 miles west of Troy, at about 11 p.m., said Cal Patrick, a dispatcher with Alabama State Troopers.

Killed in the accident was Travis Lowe, 61, of Route 2, Ramer, Patrick said.

Lowe apparently got out of the 1991 Freightliner tractor trailer he had been driving, and the truck rolled over him, she said.

Troopers do not know why he got out of the truck or what he was doing at the time of the accident.

They have classified the accident as a "one-vehicle pedestrian type," Patrick said.

The cause of the accident is still under investigation by the Alabama State Troopers.
