Edwin Owen Folmar, 85, of Goshen, died Wednesday, Nov. 3, 1999 at his home.

Services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, Nov. 5, 1999 from Elam Primitive Baptist Church with Elder J.P. Morgan and the Rev. Marvin Jackson officiating with an eulogy given by Ramon Stroud.

Burial will follow in Elam Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery with Skeen Funeral Home of Troy directing. The body will lie in state at the church one-hour prior to services.

Survivors include his wife, Laurice M. Folmar of Goshen; one daughter and son-in-law, Sharon and Ronnie Bradley of Goshen; one son and daughter-in-law, Larry Owen and Virginia Folmar of Montgomery; an adopted son and daughter-in-law, Jimmy and Mary Thornton of Huntsville; two grandchildren, Cecelia Lynn Folmar and Eric Own Folmar, both of Montgomery; one brother, William E. Folmar of ORlando, Fla.; two sisters, Rita Stroud of Goshen and Velma Hightower of Troy; and several nieces and nephews.

A native of Goshen, Folmar was a veteran of World War II, serving the Navy. He was a member of Elam Primitive Baptist Church in Goshen and owned and operated Owen Folmar Store in Goshen for 36 years.

Pallbearers will be Royce Stroud, Ramon Stroud, Roy Folmar, Ronnie Carlisle, Jerry Jackson, Jack Jackson and Richard McLeod.
