Police have no suspects in a weekend burglary of $14,200 worth of recording equipment taken from Troy State University’s Long Hall, said a school spokesman.
Long Hall is the building where Troy State’s Sound of the South marching band practices and stores its equipment.
The incident occurred between 2 a.m. Sunday when band members returned from a football game in Montgomery and 9 p.m. when the equipment was found to be missing, said Tom Davis, TSU public affairs coordinator.
"Entry was gained to the storage room where the equipment was kept by breaking a glass pane on the door," he said. "University police are still investigating how the burglar got into Long Hall."
TSU Chief of Police Rod Anderson could not be reached for comment and is still investigating the burglary, Davis said.
University officials encourage anyone with information about the incident to contact police through an anonymous tip line by calling 670-5662.
