The Alabama Democratic Party mailed a State of Alabama Mail-in Voter Registration form to Captain Chito of the Hamilton Crossroads community. Captain Chito found it to be a laughing matter. The “captain’ is a dog.

Well, the Democratic Party has finally gone to the dogs.

At least, that’s the way it appears and, for Captain Chito of the Hamilton Crossroads community, it’s a laughing matter.

On Oct. 10, the Alabama Democratic Party sent a letter to Chito offering him congratulations for taking the first step in the voter registration process.

Chito was advised to simply fill out the attached voter registration form, being certain to fully answer each question. Chito’s signature was also needed to ensure “expedient processing.”

In the letter, signed by Joe Turnham, chairman, Alabama Democratic Party, Chito was told that, after the form was processed, he would receive a voter registration card in the mail with instructions and details regarding his voting location.

“See you at the polls on November 4th,” Turnham “sincerely” said.

Well, if Captain Chito shows up at the polls on Nov. 4 expecting to vote, nobody is going to be more surprised than the chairman of the Alabama Democratic Party. You see, Captain Chito is a dog.

And, he’s not even a yellow dog Democrat.

Captain Chito is a registered AKC Champion “Bichon Frise” dog.

“I’ve never been so surprised or so amused as I was when Chito received a State of Alabama Mail-in Voter Registration Form,” said June Arn, Chito’s owner. “The form already had his name – last and first – Chito Captain, and ‘his’ address typed in. Of course, Chito had to sign and date the form. I thought that maybe I should put his paw print on it and send it back.”

Arn said she has no idea how Chito’s name was chosen for his “voice to be heard and his opinion to count.”

“Captain Chito was named after a boat Captain that is a billfish guide at the Pinas Bay Lodge, Panama, Panama,” Arn said. “He was a show dog that completed his American Kennel Club Championship. At one time, ‘Chito’s Café’ at Hamilton Crossroads was named after him.

“Chito is quite a dog, but a voter?

“If Chito qualifies as a voter, I think we could sign up a lot of voters.”

Chito has yet to take the important first step to become a registered voter but, if he puts his paw on the dotted line, Arn said she would like to see the faces of those who are charged with expediting the process.

Who are you going to vote for ? The Democractic 's need your vote.Look how crazy this country has got and people are crossing the border to get here. Now I know the true meaning to, God Bless America.

You have got to be kidding me! The Democrats have gone so far as to pulling names from AKC? At least this man was honest about it and reported it, but who else got these registrations and are actually signing their dogs name??? This election is so rigged!

How do we know if a democrat sent that form in? Just because a box was checked for the democratic party??????If "Chito Captain" didn't go in and sign up to vote on site showing his ID at the same time, then anyone of us could have filled out that form and sent it in. We are way off base from the issues at hand.

Posted by blissfullygreen (anonymous) on October 24, 2008 at 10:28 a.m. (Suggest removal)

the above comments are ridiculous. Even if Chito's owner sent the form in and had him registered, do you people actually think the people at the polls would give him a ballot? He would not be able to show a photo ID and doesn't have an electricity bill nor any other type of proof required to vote. The election isn't rigged. If McCain loses, which is likely to happen, it won't be because a few dogs were sent voter registration forms.

On Fox news last week there was a report of a man in Chicago that was taken to 74 different places to "register" under the Democratic ticket using all different names.

According to him he did not know why or what he was doing. The people told him he had to register and that they were from the "Democratic Party" and there to "help him register".

If he did not know why then I sure don't think he should vote either way.

Come on people! Listen to Bamabunny! Listen to Fox News for that matter and some of you democrats may open you eyes to what is really going on. There have been people registered to vote (driven by Acorn) using the name Micky Mouse, etc... There have been addresses looked up and only to be found nonexistent in the middle of a river somewhere. Witnesses have been reporting (not on CNN, of course) that they have been given $10 for their absentee democratic vote, and voting several times under different names, I might add. Oh, and now Obama is saying he is not associated with Acorn, yeah right.

Posted by Bamabunny (anonymous) on October 24, 2008 at 2:10 p.m. (Suggest removal)

Obama also says he was born as a citizen too....his sister says one hospital in Hawaii...he says another in Hawaii...and his own grandmother says "Kenya". Yet he still will not produce a birth certificate as ruled by a judge in Pennsylvania.

His mother was American but that is it. This was not a military birth over seas either. The Constitution clearly states that a person must be a born American to be eligible for the Presidency.

People are really determined to slander Obama until it has gotten out of hand. All of a sudden, dogs are being registered, people are given money to vote...what's next? If you don't like Obama...fine. But leave that man alone!!!!!!! Be careful how you speak about people. The grave you dig for him should be a shallow one because you may be the one to fall in it.

Posted by Virtuous (anonymous) on October 24, 2008 at 3:52 p.m. (Suggest removal)

And another thing. You know full well that if there was any kind truth or untruth for that matter, questioning his birth place he would have been eliminated before he even started.

Posted by OldSchoolPike3Worker (anonymous) on October 24, 2008 at 4:53 p.m. (Suggest removal)

When it comes to Obama, if you ask any questions about his birthplace or his associates, or anything else that might present the messiah in a negative light you are racist. I can't believe that out of a country with almost 300 million people, that this is the best we can do when it comes to electing a president. The truth about Obama doesn't seem to affect Obama supporters. If I wasn't so concerned with the future of this republic, I would be amazed at how Obama has made it this far. But, I'm not amazed, I'm dissapointed at the lack of journalism in this country. Any high school newspaper reporter can see that Obama's past has more holes in it that swiss cheese, but our media refuses to mention almost any of the truth about this man. The ideas Obama has are the same as Carl Marx's ideas. Just because someone is not a Communist by name does not mean they are not a Communist. If you walk like a Commie and talk like a Commie than guess what, your a Commie! It appears that the Communist put down there weapons and hired a PR firm to defeat the American society. If we don't watch out, our country will be nothing but a bunch of thumb suckers with no reason or motivation to innovate or acheive anything. Obama's answer to everything is government programs or spending. To Obama, success is an accident that should be punished and failure is never the fault of the attempted. Obama is where he is because he has convinced enough people that he knows who's fault their failure is, rather than inspiring those people to get up and try again on their own. This article illustrates only one of the problems with this election when pets are getting registered to vote. Any appearance of fraud can cause this election not to be legitimate. The enemies to our way of life are smiling and those who have died for our country are rolling over in their graves.

There have been over 1000 illegal registered voters found in the state of AL alone, all voting for the democratic ticket. They have also said that nothing will be done about this until after the election. What has happened to this country? "by the book"... why would a Republican send a form with "Democrat" checked???? Duh! I am not slandering Obama. Slander is giving false information. These are facts that I am stating. It is "HIS" party who is committing these illegal acts. He is obviously justifying it. He is not to be trusted. Is that who we want running our country.

Turn off the TV (Fox News) and radio (Rush L.) for a while. Get out of the house and meet some of your neighbors. We're not all bad. I promise there isn't as many right wing boogie-men waiting around the corner to get you as Fox News would lead you to believe. The world as you know it will not end if Senator Obama wins. No one will be knocking on your door to take your guns away. No one will keep you from going to the church of your choice. They won't be performing abortions on demand in the town square. No one will take your hard earned money and spread it around. Heck, I bet the vast majority of you will get a well deserved tax cut if you make under $250,000. It is a well know fact that Senator Obama is not a Muslim, and why would it matter if he was. Not all Muslims hate America or are they looking to kill you or convert you to their religion. The Communist are certainly not setting up shop in Troy any time soon. Being scared of your own shadow is no way to live one's life. As FDR said, "There is nothing to fear, but fear itself."

If those who have died for our country are spinning in their graves it is because we have allowed other people to drive a wedge between us and those who hold a different view or opinion from us. So much for democracy and freedom.

PS
If anyone sees Mickey Mouse at the polls on Nov. 4th, be sure to get his autograph for me.

The problem is that these "fake" registrations often vote by absentee ballot so nobody sees them at the polls. If the dog owner's wanted to sign his name and send it in and then request an absentee ballot ad vote absentee, the dog's vote would more than likely be counted. That is how ACORN will turn all of these fake registrations into very real votes.

Nice post OSPW3. By the way white_lightning, we aren't afraid of right wing boogie-men, but we are afraid of left wing socialist and non informed people that vote for change b/c their heroes in Hollywood w/ no morals tell them we need change - change isn't always good! Oboma is a socialist - no way around it. If he weren't black, he wouldn't even be on the ticket - that is the truth & people are scared to say it b/c race is such a sensitive subject.

Excellent post OSP3W , you have voiced exactly what a lot of us feel .
As for white-lightning , you seem to have swallowed Obama's rhetoric hook , line and sinker. To anyone who truly looks at his past, his experience , his birth, his 20 years of listening to his pastor preach hatred of white people and the fact he hates having a white mother ,why would they want to ote for him . Okay discount fifty percent of what has been said about him and the other fifty percent is saying the same thing . I was taught years ago that where there is smoke , there is bound to be fire sooner or later.
I love this country and I don't want anyone doing anything to further hurt it . But go ahead and vote for him and you'll find out all this the hard way .

For "virtuous".

Well the other report was that Obama had 2 birth certificates. One that said Honolulu in one hospital and another said Honolulu and in another hospital. Then there is one according to his grandmother that said "Kenya". The report also said that one from Hawaii was poorly "altered".

So I wonder which one deems him eligible? And why won't he present the real one to the court if he is legit when the judge ordered him to do so?

McCain presented all papers when asked...and he was born in Panama...but born into a military family...therefore making him a "legal" American.

If Fido gets to vote...then I want to declare my dog on my income tax!

Point taken Fanoftroy, but going by that logic doesn't it seem like all absentee ballots would be suspect and ripe for fraud. Sure seems like a larger flaw in the system that should be addressed. I'm sure those ballots have to be notarized and witnessed. I would hope they are.

Thunderstick and Elvis2 (sounds like a great B movie at the old Starlight drive-in), i'm sure you didn't mean to leave Bush, McCain and the republican administration out of the Socialist club since they voted as well for the $700 billion bailout of Wall Street and the nationalization of the banks. There is plenty of blame to be spread on the Socialist front, Dems included.

Ditto on the Hollywood heroes, Ronald Reagan, Arnold Schwarzenegger, Sonny Bono and Fred Thompson. Hollyweird indeed.

I can't help you with the race issue. You'll have to work that one out for yourselves. We're all rooting for you to beat that demon back.

I love my country as well, as all Americans do. I just happen to prefer change over a continuation of the last eight years. Simple as that.

Obama wants to "spread the wealth". Where is he going to get this "wealth" to spread??? He's going to get it from you and from me...not the rich...from you and from me. He will spread it among those here illegally that have not contributed one dime into the economy...or lifted one finger to work for a living in this country. We are already losing our social security to the same people here "illegally" and that's just the beginning.

There is a plan to eliminate the 401k plan that you and I have worked for many years to build for retirement. He wants to have all our money government regulated and government run.

His income tax policy of taking money from one group and giving it to another group that doesn't pay income tax is simply a welfare program.

According to a report in U.S. News, Democrats are considering a plan that essentially end 401k plans in favor of a government-run saving plan.

Barack Obama sees the current state of the economy, and he says, "Vote for me. I'll take money from the 'rich' and give it to YOU!" That rhetoric is shameful, and it is a step in the socialist direction. The Democrats see the current problems in the stock market, and are now using it to propose a government take-over of retirement accounts.

I worked for many years and saved money for retirement. Why should I have to forfeit what I earned honestly to people who have come here for a hand out which includes medical...housing...food and school? There are too many people in this country here legally and our own citizens that need those same services first and foremost. Let's start here at home first...the right way.

Vote in this election like it may be your last...for it just well might be if people persist in lack of judgment to vote for the "spread the wealth" because that "wealth" is going to come from you and from me.

Remember his quote? "We live in the greatest nation in the world...let's work together to change all that!" (duh)

For years the Democrats have targeted the weak and poor with empty promises and nothing has changed yet. Each time we have a Democratic President the country gets weaker from within...then a Republican President gets all the blame for the state of the union only because the entire mess was dropped in his lap.

This is not a race issue. This is fact.

This country can't survive with Obama's "changes" and for someone that has been in office as a Senator for 147 days as opposed to McCain's 22 years!

It still amazes me that the majority of Black men and women will vote Democrat. Under the GOP, Black Americans were appointed to the highest offices in our nation's history (Secretary of State, Joint Chiefs of Staff, etc). The first black Supreme Court Justice was appointed by the GOP and the Democrats tried to keep him off the bench. The GOP ended slavery but the Democrats wanted to keep it. The Democrats want to keep the majority of Black People poor by getting them hooked on the welfare system while the GOP has the goal of creating jobs so all individuals can elevate themselves.

For "stickam" and the first comment here.

I just re read your comment...and it goes like this...

"Who are you going to vote for ? The Democractic 's need your vote.Look how crazy this country has got and people are crossing the border to get here. Now I know the true meaning to, God Bless America."

Why do you think people are crossing the border to get here??? Because the Democrats made that legal and because they have legal status within 24 hours and get money for being here....OUR money and a good portion of that goes back to their own country and into that economy.

Now you know the meaning of "God Bless America"??? Wake up buddy...God is OUT of our schools...soon to be off our currancy...possibly out of our Pledge of Allegiance...Muslim stamps are being pushed at Christmas time for cards...and we cannot even say "Merry Christmas" on Christ's birthday because it may "offend".

This country got "crazy" as you say because the Democrats are in power over the Senate and the House and they are the ones that put us in this "crazy" situation. Now they say they are going to "change" things. Well things are going to change alright...they will get worse if Obama gets into office.

They shoved God out of the main stream of things and what we need to do instead of saying "God Bless America" is start saying "Please God...Bless America."

We need all the help that we can get and it is not going to come from the Democrats because they put us in this mess to begin with.

Very solid points "fanoftroy".

Posted by White_Lightning1 (anonymous) on October 25, 2008 at 12:10 p.m. (Suggest removal)

Thanks Fanoftroy and lets now hear from General Colin Powell, GOP appointed Secretary of State, and current Obama supporter on this whole "spreading the wealth around" hooey. "Taxes are always a redistribution of money. Most of the taxes that are redistributed go back to those who pay it in roads and airports and hospitals and schools. And taxes are necessary for the common good. And there’s nothing wrong with examining what our tax structure is or who should be paying more, who should be paying less. And for us to say that makes you a socialist I think is an unfortunate characterization that isn’t accurate."

I don't know about you Bamabunny, but my 401k, or what is left of it, has taken about all it can from 8 years of this Bush economy. I imagine McCain would finish off what ever I have left as he readily admits, the economy is not his strong suit.

As for folks being here illegally, how about going after the folks and business that continue to hire them and therefore create an on going demand for illegals to come to this country to work. If you made it a crime to hire them, with stiff fines, I'd venture to guess they wouldn't be hiring workers who were here illegally. Plus, there are enough home folks who are out of work here that could be filling those jobs.

Not sure how 8 years of peace and prosperity under the last Democratic administration made the country weaker. Regardless of how you feel about Clinton's sex life, he did leave Bush with the greatest budget surplus in our nations history which Bush has managed to turn into one of the biggest economic disasters in recent history. My friends, that is were your retirement money is going, to pay for this mess.

So if Senator Obama wins in November it will be a Democrat President who is getting all the blame for the state of the union because the entire mess was dropped in his lap by the previous Republican administration.

Posted by fanoftroy (anonymous) on October 25, 2008 at 1:50 p.m. (Suggest removal)

White_Lightening, I respect your comments but you obviously have very little understanding of the cause behind the current economic problems. First, the Clinton Administration with the assistance of Democratic legislators forced banks to give mortgages to individuals with bad credit and low incomes which is one of the major reasons we are in the mess we are in now. Freddie Mac and Fanny May were propped up by the Clinton Administration and again by the Democratic Congress when they regained control of Congress2 years ago. The GOP tried to stop Fannie and Freddy but because democratic legislators were getting major contributions from Fanny and Freddie, the democractically controlled Congress refused to reign them in. Obama is the 2nd largest recipient of campaign contributions from Fanny and Freddie. Furthermore, if you are worried about your 401k, you need to vote against Obama. Biden said yesterday that he would like the government to tak eover 401k plans and to stop tax deferments for 401k plans. He pointed to Argentina as an example. Argentina just passed a law in which their government toook over all pension plans for all of their citizens and made it government money. I would encourage all people who do not understand that the conomic crisis is a result of democratic party ideals to educate yourself before you make a big mistake. I would also encourage you to read yesterday's Wall Street Journal article which says that the markets are down internationally because world leaders fear Obama's dangerous economic policies.

With each term of office and for 4 years with a Democratic government...at least 10 years of damage is done. Add to that 4 more years in office and that's twice as many years of damage. How can someone undo all that damage from years of abuse by liberal parties?

We seem to forget that the last few years the government has been powered by

The House of Representatives with
* 232 Democrats
* 200 Republicans

The Senate with
* 59 Democrats
* 49 Republicans

This includes American Samoa...Guam...the Virgin Islands and Peurto Rico.

Illegal workers being hired have been dealt with in California for years. Employers were fined big time for such practices until the liberals said "hey it's ok now and guess what? You have legal status and here's your money...your house...your food...your clothes and funding for school for your kids!"

I pulled out of my 401K and rolled it over to where there would at the least be some interest on the principle without having people manage my money in the market and lose everything I worked for. They don't care because it's not their money. I did that 5 years ago and I am so glad I did that.

In 1995 and when I still lived there in San Diego county...our taxes shot up to $14,000.00 a year to help pay for the 40 BILLION (yes BILLION) needed for social programs JUST for illegals thanks to Barbara Boxer and Diane Feinstein..both liberal Democrats. The taxes are even higher now. And you know what? That was ONLY San Diego county.

Ted Kennedy has concern over the illegals crossing the Rio Grande for a better life because some drown. Where was that attitude when Mary Jo drown??? And this guy even sat on the "Moral Majority Committee".

Too many people are trying to come to America for a "better life" legally...and it's unfair that government has it's main focus on the illegals so they can have their votes.

The rest of the country is only now feeling what California has felt and is going through and for us it's only the tip of the iceberg. All those promises effected the middle class American that always has to pay the price.

This election will either break us all or at the least give us a fighting chance...and that "chance" is not with Obama.

fanoftroy , you are correct in saying White-Lightning has not reviewed his history of the Democratic party for the last fifty years . If he goes back with an open mind he'll find the democratic party has done more to hurt the United States than the Republicans ever have . He also needs to remember who controls the senate now but yet they can't come up with any plan or program to help todays problems . I've believe in looking for the facts and when done with an open mind the truth stares you in the face . You want a change , then quit worrying about your 401k plan and start asking yourself some very serious questions , such as why haven't we been attacted while the GOP has been in charge . It just might be that President Bush had a little something to do with it . Look back at past Democratic presidents and you see one fumble after another.
No just take another sip of the white lightning you named yourself after and you'll have a rosy view of everything.

By far the economy is the most pressing issue with voters, and I can see how the Republicans would want to deflect responsibility for the country's current economic mess. But remember they are the ones that have been in power for the last 8 years and they did next to nothing to prevent the coming economic crisis. Trillion's of dollars of national debt, largest financial bailout in history, record number of home foreclosures and rising unemployment. But wait, until a few weeks ago McCain was still saying the fundamentals of our economy were strong. Say what? And to top that off, you have McCain's economic adviser, Phil Gramm, saying that we are going through a "mental reccession" and that "America is a nation of whiners." Really? I guess it shouldn't come as any surprise that voters feel that McCain is out of touch with what is going on in their everyday lives. And they certainly know he hasn't got a clue of how to get us out of this crisis.

You can scream that our economic woes are the Democrats/Clinton's fault until the cows come home, but It was 2004, that the Bush administration began slashing regulation and freeing small banks from the tough standards that had been in place for years and this in turn open the doors to the predatory lenders. Yep, the real abuse was putting borrowers who actually qualified for prime loans into subprime loans because it was more profitable to the predatory lenders, something that proper regulation would and should have prevented.

So, my friends, this mortgage meltdown is due in large part to deregulation by the Bush administration that in turn created this tidal wave of corporate and individual greed. But hey, when all else fails and your back is against the wall, do like the republicans do and blame the victims.

Bamabunny, I think it was Gerald "Sir trips-a-lot" Ford and pardoner of Richard "I'm not a crook" Nixon, that actually made that statement. Not Thomas Jefferson, who is misquoted quite a bit for some reason.

Regardless, I get your point. But we are now looking at the largest government in our nation's history, courtesy of the Bush White House. They have run up massive spending numbers that show near-record growth in the size of government on its watch and they don't deny it.
I'm not too sure with two on going wars and the Wall Street bailout, etc., how either candidate can get a handle on it anytime soon, whoever wins.

Posted by Bamabunny (anonymous) on October 26, 2008 at 4:27 p.m. (Suggest removal)

Yes it was a misquote from Jefferson. I had always thought perhaps Mr Ford borrowed that quote like Kennedy borrowed from Roosevelt. Thank you for making this clear.

I have to comment about Nixon and "I am not a crook". Watergate was just that. But you know what? The Democrats have been doing it for years before that....Nixon just got caught. But he will forever have my thanks for bringing my husband home from Vietnam..."with honor".

You did however hit the nail on the head when you said

"I'm not too sure with two on going wars and the Wall Street bailout, etc., how either candidate can get a handle on it anytime soon, whoever wins."

Yet Bush is blamed for the mess we are in when all was dumped in his lap from years before and the Clinton era.

And even though we are in a financial crunch...economically and personally...the powers be in government and run by the Democrats still choose to give money away...our money. They don't make it easy for the middle man. What is wrong with that picture?

I did go on but I deleted it.

Why would you vote for Barack Obama or John McCain who stand for literally the same things?
-They both stand up for the Corporations.
-They both were for a 700 billion dollar bailout that FAILED this country.(Check my Bailout Reversal blog)
-They refused to let 3rd party candidates like Ralph Nader debate them.
-They refuse to let ballot access be easier for 3rd party candidates.(Check my Ballot Access blog)
-They both flip flop on the war in Iraq and who our allies are.(Israel)
-They can't decide if we should talk to our enemies or not.
-They both ignore issues of poverty after promising not too.
-They both flip flop on Gay Marriage, Abortion, Immigration, Border Patrol, Military spending, Social Security, NAFTA, and Taxes.
-They both ignore Solar Power and resort to wasteful and polution dangers such as Nuclear Power.
-Neither of them stand up for Labor Unions, Farmer Unions, or the Working Class Families.
-They both leave out millions in their Medical Care Plans.
-They both were against the impeachment of George Bush.
DO NOT VOTE FOR BARACK W. MCCAIN!

Here is a video of how close the two of them are.

-McCain gives Exxon Mobile a 4 billion dollar tax cut. Obama accepts funding from corporations.

-Taxpayers pay for a 700 billion dollar bailout that grew our deficit but the companies wasted the money for ex. aig uses money to send executives on vacations.

-The candidates refused to let Nader debate them... the anheuser busch sponsored debates? totally corporately controlled and the two parties could change this.

-The two parties have a say in how easy it is for 3rd party candidates to get on a ballot and they make it extremely hard.

-You say flip flopping has "happened for years" as an excuse... why should we accept anything but complete honesty from candidates?

-Iran.

-Before the election McCain was for gay marriage, pro choice, amnesty for illegals, among other things he now claims to be against. Obama can't decide whether he is for or against gay marriage or abortion... he really will not take a stand. and even lied to us and canada about his position on nafta telling us two different things.

-Just because Nuclear is popular means they shouldnt open the page to exploring cleaner solar power?

-Obama stands for the middle class, McCain stands for the Corporate Class... Who stands for the Lower Class?

-Bush started an illegal war, his administration exposed a cia agent, he let scooter libby fall for it and then gave him a free pass, his administration took an illegal role in the prosecution of democrat don siegelman. Karl Rove took a major role in this but when he refused to testify to congress Bush gave him a free pass as well. The prosecution of military personel and border patrol agents for doing their job. The illegal spying of americans everywhere.

How is The Messenger the only media to carry this story? I would think Fox News would be all over this. I didn't even see this story on WTVY or WSFA!

Regardless of who wins this election, my prayer will still be the same. "Lord, I pray that the next president of the United States has the mind to seek Your face, Your instructions, Your direction, and Your guidance on how to run this country. Every decision that has to be made, I pray is made with Your wisdom. In Jesus' Name, Amen." If our next president doesn't get on his knees and pray...there will be no change. I don't care what either of them says.

So you're saying we need to vote for Obama then? Because I am pretty sure that he will be getting on his knees and praying...at least five times a day....while facing east...

You stupid a$$ people anyone can put a name on a registration form but when they go on Nov. 4th to cast their vote, how far do you think the dog will get? Wake up!! Vote for who you want, but what good does all the dirt and bashing each party going to do for our nation? Everyone in the country knows that white people will not vote for Obama just because he's black. Vote for the person better qualified for the job, McCain please and don't even mention Palin she can't even run her shoes over.

@ Regis
No, I'm not asking you to vote for Obama. I'm not talking about praying to the east or carrying out some type of prayer idoltary. This country has turned it's back on God and it's time to return.
2 Chromicles 7:14 "If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land."

The Kaaba was built by Abraham. Muslims face it to pray to the God of Abraham. How is that different than Christians kneeling at an altar facing the Cross to pray to the same God of Abraham?

@Regis
Forgive my use of the word idoltary. I won't speak about the Muslim Religion because I know very little about it.

Towngirl you miss the point...when you vote by absentee ballot, you don't have to show anyone an ID. You check the box and drop it in the mail. Bingo (the dog) just voted!!

Bamabunny, You just said:

"If he did not know why then I sure don't think he should vote either way."

It doesn't surprise me that you are cool with denying someone their constitutional rights.

If the Democrats were as big of "cheaters" as you people are proclaiming, would the owner have just sent in the form and voted for the dog?

You say that because people vote for Obama that they're brainwashed and "drinking the koolaid", yet you watch FoxNews; which even admits their bias.

Your stupidity astounds me. Actually, it really doesn't. I expect it everytime I read these comments on this website. You are completely short-sighted. And I hope Obama wins, just so I can see the fear on your faces. You are scared of the whitest black man out there.

I think dogs should have the right to vote because they have more sense than most humans. The laws give you more time in prison for the abuse of an animal than a human, so what that tell you.

We will never REALLY know who won the presidential election of 2008. There is so much corruption in this election that i think even the election officials are just looking for November 5 to arrive !

I always thought that Ralph Nader Should be getting more attention. I agree with most of you that this election has become more about the Bulls--t in politics. I always said I would vote for the candidate that best represents me and from what going on I may not even vote. As a black woman it kills me to think that people automatically assume I am going to vote Sen. Obama becaue he is black. I am not brainwashed the Republicans and the Democrats Have equally F--KED up this country and love to point out who did the most damage. We are in the mess we are in because of both parties not caring about the people they are suppose to be taking care of. But we choose to argue who is the better the seasoned bulls--ter or the inexperience bulls--ter. This country is always going to owe someone cause a majority of Americans owe someone.

I try!

I too commend you MsJones207...But must point out that the Fox news watchers and Rush listeners are so obvious and say the same things over and over. As an Independant I watch Fox and CNN to help me determine my vote and all I've heard from Fox and the right wing radicals is slander against Obama...NOT what McCain will do...instead of playing offense they are too busy playing defense.

Obama is my man !

Hey Towngirl,

According to the newest Fox News poll, Obama is on point to get the largest Democratic white vote since Jimmy Carter back in '77. Not too shabby.
McCain will get the lowest white GOP vote since Barry Goldwater back the 60's. Dang! That has to hurt.

As for absentee ballots, no one can just fill them out and send them in. They have to either be witnessed by two different witnesses or signed by a Notary Public. Unless someone is willing to vouch for that poor dog, I don't think he going to get to vote this year.

Posted by fanoftroy (anonymous) on October 28, 2008 at 8:19 p.m. (Suggest removal)

Ok so if I wanted my dog to vote, I could sign the absentee ballot in my dog's name and then I could witness it and so could my wife and we could mail it in and nobody woul be any the wiser. Also, since my wife is a notary, we could go the notary route if we wanted to . White Lightening, fake voting via absentee ballot is easy as pie.

Posted by fanoftroy (anonymous) on October 28, 2008 at 8:23 p.m. (Suggest removal)

That is exactly why absentee ballots should be highly scrutinized

We are already in trouble on so many levels and things are only getting worse. I'm afraid America is about at the end of her reign. Our 200 years of domination is about over just like all those mighty nations who fell before us. This country has never been more divided and apparently things are not gonna get any better since we have all become so selfish. When our military falls, we are toast. But maybe that is what some Americans want. Why I will never understand. Is your life really so terrible now that you would rather the country fall completely apart than work together to make it better? Is your life really so bad now that you would be willing to chance losing it all? Be honest.

This country has been in a comfort zone for decades, especially the last eight years. We've tolerated and struggled so much to the point that some of us think it's better to attempt adjusting to the way things are than to change it. Change scares a lot of people in many areas of their lives. But if you want to see results that you've never seen before...do what you've never done before. I'm a Democrat but if McCain had the mind set for change that I thought could bring results the way I feel Obama's plan for this country will...then I would be a proud Democrat, voting Rebublican. Both candidates speak about what changes need to be made for our economy to flourish and expand...Fine. But which one of them has the better plan set in motion to work towards that goal?
