It’s Halloween weekend, which means it’s time for Pumpkins Around the Square.

The annual event gives families the opportunity to bring their kids down to the Square for an afternoon of trick-or-treating at downtown businesses and events by other organizations and businesses as well.

The Messenger will have a costume contest and photo booth set up at the gazebo, so make sure the kids are in their best costumes for a chance at a prize.

The event will be held from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. today on the Square. The downtown committee of the Pike County Chamber of Commerce and the City of Troy hosts the event.

Trick-or-treating for the city will be held on Monday night.
