Saraland rallied for five runs in the second inning and four in the fourth to claim a 10-4 win over Charles Henderson High Saturday in the Trojan Softball Classic at the Troy Sportsplex.

CHHS advanced to the championship bracket with a win over Carroll of Ozark Friday night and another Saturday morning against Thorsby High, but too many errors Saturday afternoon gave Saraland the two big innings and nine unearned runs, sending them to the next round of bracket play, while the Lady Trojans were eliminated.

Saraland took a 1-0 lead in the first inning, but in the bottom of the first CHHS went up 4-1 as Sidney Armstrong singled, Lindsey Fox and Rose Snyder walked, with Tucker Earles and Emma Kirkpatrick each hitting a single to close out the scoring.

Saraland bounced back with five runs in the top of the second to go up 6-4, and added four more in the fourth to seal the 10-4 victory.

Saraland only out-hit CHHS 7-6, but too many defensive mistakes provided enough base runners and extra at-bats to put the game away.

CHHS was led at the plate by Sidney Armstrong with two hits while Molly Kate Sanders, Lindsey Fox, Tucker Earles and Emma Kirkpatrick had one hit apiece.

Kirkpatrick only allowed one earned run on the mound for the Lady Trojans, while striking out two and walking none.

The Lady Trojans return to action Tuesday at Greenville.
