“The theme for our children’s summer program is ‘Every Hero Has a Story’ and we’ll be hearing many fascinating stories about our heroes,” Colvin said. “Our younger age group will learn about Superheroes, firefighters, policemen and animal heroes.

“Our older children will attend the Superhero Academy, attend a magic show and go on a Hero’s journey. The scientists from the McWane Science Center always have amazing things to see and do. Movie Day brings the Summer Library Program to a close and it will be a very exciting movie.”

The theme for the young adults’ Summer Library Program is “Unmask!” and will feature “A Murdererous Melodrama” in which the participants will help solve a murder mystery.

“The young adults always enjoy the challenge of ‘minute to win it’ game,” Colvin said. “‘Dr. Who’ will be our limited number event and Movie Day is always a ‘sell out.’”

Colvin said all Summer Library Program events and activities are designed to encourage summertime reading.

Awards will be presented to the top readers in the children’s and young adults’ programs at the end of the Summer Library Programs.
