New Life Christian Academy inducts students to Beta Club

New Life Christian Academy began its charter club of National Junior Beta Club Friday morning, when 10 students were inducted and two students transferred their memberships.

In order to be eligible to join the National Junior Beta Club, according to the Beta Club’s national constitution, the students must be worthy, moral and ethical in character, have exemplary achievement and have a commendable attitude. All students must be performing at or above grade level. New Life Christian Academy also requires the students to maintain an A average.

“I am so excited about the opportunity for us to begin our charter club here at New Life Christian Academy,” said Polly Laird, principal of New Life Christian Academy. “The students are worthy of this high honor.”

The inductees recited a pledge and lit candles during the induction ceremony. Each student received a certificate of membership, a membership card and a pin.

“We will work together to become better citizens in our school, our community and our nation,” Laird said during the ceremony.

Students pledged to always strive to be honest, truthful at all times to maintain a credible scholastic record. They also pledged to conduct themselves in an ethical and moral manner, reflecting their school and community.

“New Life Christian Academy was founded upon the principles that are found are in the Word of God,” Laird said. “We are so proud that (the students) have obeyed His call in (their) lives to be leaders. We need leaders, as well as good followers.”

The following students were inducted into the National Junior Beta Club: John Alloway, ShaJazzmine Brockton, Zachorian Cantlow, Mikalah Griffin, Zynia Hamilton, Ciara Laird, QuinDarrius Lee, Jenesis McClure, Jehoshaphat McClure, Jheran Turner and Jaladrian Wise. Joanna and Jehoshaphat McClure transferred their memberships from Goshen Elementary School.
