Pike County School Board met Wednesday to accept the resignation of a lunchroom worker.

Superintendent Dr. Mark Bazzell said the board needed to act immediately on the resignation in order to have the position advertised for the required 14-day time period. “We wanted to do it now before spring break,” Bazzell said.

Kendra Harden, a lunchroom worker for the Pike County School System, was granted her request for resignation during Wednesday’s meeting.

Harden’s resignation was effectively immediately, and the position will be posted starting today and will be advertised for two weeks.

Bazzell said the board hoped to be able to have the position filled by the next regularly scheduled school board meeting, which will be held at Monday, March 23, at 5:30 p.m. in the Pike County Board of Education Board Room.
