Former Troy University wide receiver and kick return specialist Chandler Worthy wasn’t invited to the NFL combine recently, but that doesn’t mean the senior can’t make a name for himself amongst NFL scouts.

Monday morning, Troy University held its Pro Day at Veterans Memorial Stadium where 13 former Troy football players and many other area school players worked out in front of NFL scouts.

Players took the Wonderlic Test and were measured for height and weight before performing physical drills, like the vertical jump, broad jump, 225-pound bench press, 40-yard dash, shuttle run and three-cone drill.

Worthy quickly became the center of attention with his numbers in the on-field drills.

The Georgia native ran a pair of 4.34 40-yard dashes and recorded a 39.5-inch vertical jump, 11-foot-5 broad jump, 17 reps on the bench press and a 4.04 shuttle drill.

All of Worthy’s marks Monday were above the average marks of all the wide receivers at the NFL Combine.

Worthy’s vertical also ranked the best of the day followed by a 35.5 mark from Femi Odaibo and B.J. Chitty.
