Troy football releases complete 2015 schedule

Troy University officially announced its 2015 football schedule Friday, drawing ever closer to the beginning of the Neal Brown era.

The Trojans will face a batch of formidable nonconference foes, highlighted by their season opener at North Carolina State on Sept. 5, a trip to Camp Randall to take on Wisconsin on Sept. 19 and a road game against top SEC team Mississippi State on Oct. 10.

Other notable dates for Troy’s 2015 season include an Oct. 17 homecoming game against Idaho, Band Day set for Sept. 12 against Charleston Southern and Military Day scheduled for Nov. 7 against ULM.

As part of its Sun Belt schedule, Troy will play four road games against New Mexico State on Oct. 24, a Halloween matchup at Appalachian State, a Nov. 28 trip to Georgia State and a season finale at UL Lafayette on Dec. 5.

The 2015 season will mark the first time ever that Troy will meet North Carolina State and Wisconsin, while the Trojans will play Mississippi State for the third time in four years.

Troy’s trip to North Carolina State is the opening game of a home-and-home series with the Wolfpack. NC State will make the return trip to Troy in 2017.

Every Sun Belt game this season will be televised on an ESPN platform.

A full broadcast schedule will be announced before the season.
