Troy soccer’s record-breaking run this past season is starting to garner the Trojans national recognition.

Tuesday, Troy soccer head coach Jason Hamilton announced the signing of Auburn University transfer Haley Roberson.

Roberson, a native of Burke, Va., played 12 games for the Tigers in 2013 at defender, with one goal on the season against national power Florida State before sitting out the 2014 season.

“We are excited to add Haley to our program,” Hamilton said. “She is a player that I saw during her youth career. She is very athletic and brings experience to our team.”

Roberson was an all-district selection at James Robinson High School and was ranked in the 2013 National Top 100 by TopDrawerSoccer.com and No. 7 in the Mid-Atlantic Region by ESPN High School.

In addition to individual accolades, Roberson also led her club team to the 2011 and 2012 Virginia State Championships, both of which they won.

Roberson will join the Trojans’ roster in January.
