Joretta Barr Starling age 50 of Troy went to be with her lord and maker on Monday, August 18, 2014 surrounded by her family at home.

Funeral Services will be held Wednesday, August 20, 2014 at 3:00 pmfrom the First Baptist Church of Troy with Dr. Luke Lane officiating. Burial will follow in Green Hills Cemetery.

Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the Church.

Jo is survived by her husband Alton Starling, her Daughters Kelsey and Megan Starling, her mother and stepfather Erma Jean and Virgil Wilkes, a sister and her children Jennifer Barr Ross and Daniel, Bryan, Emily and Ashley Ross, two brothers and their children Jerry Barr and Justin and Summer Barr, Jeff Barr and Shane and Shad Barr, her mother-in- law and father-in-law Alice and Alton Starling, her brothers-in-law and their families Scott and Jennifer Starling and their Daughter Kenzie, Jeff and Olivia Starling and their sons Kirby and Timothy.

Among Jo’s most cherished memories is the time she got to spend with her family and friends and the 15 years and countless young lives that she touched while she taught at Mothers Day Out at the First Baptist Church in Troy.

Active pallbearers will be Jeff Starling, Scott Starling, Shane Barr, Justin Barr, Daniel Ross, Bryan Barr.

Jo and her family request in lieu of flowers memorials be made to the Mothers Day Out program at the First Baptist Church in Troy.
