Billy J. Paramore, a resident of Dothan, died Wednesday morning, April 2, 2014 at Baptist South Hospital in Montgomery. He was 77.

Funeral services will be held 10:00 a.m. Friday, April 4, 2014 at Byrd Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Philip Harrelson and Rev. Craig Sully officiating. Burial will follow in Sunset Memorial Park with Byrd Funeral Home on West Main Street directing. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 5:30 until 7:00 on Thursday.

Mr. Paramore was born October 30, 1936 in Dale County and lived the early years of his life in Ozark. He entered the U. S. Air Force and served in Korea and Vietnam prior to his retirement as a Master Sergeant. After his military service, he attended Troy State University where he earned his Master’s Degree in teaching. He then taught school for over eleven ½ years prior to his medical retirement. Mr. Paramore was a resident of Dothan for over 40 years and a licensed minister in the United Pentecostal Church.

He is predeceased by his wife, Donna Paramore, his parents, Travis and Eva Mae Garner Paramore and three brothers, Travis, Roy, and Bobby.

Survivors include a daughter, Lyna Sully and her husband, Craig of Togo, West Africa; a son, Marcus Paramore and his wife, Leigh Ann of Troy; four grandchildren, (2LT) Jeffrey Sully and Jessica Sully, Bradley Paramore and Cody Paramore; a brother, Charlie Paramore (Karen) of South Florida; several nieces and nephews also survive.
