Grady Wayne Booker

Grady Wayne Booker, age 72, of Troy, AL., died December 21, 2013. Funeral services for Mr. Booker will be at 2 p.m., Monday, Dec. 23, 2013, at First Baptist Church in Troy, AL., with Dr. James Nichols and Dr. Luke Lane officiating. Visitation will also take place Monday at the church from noon until service time. Mr. Booker will be laid to rest at Green Hills Memorial Cemetery in Troy, AL. Green Hills Funeral Home directing.

Mr. Booker was a dedicated member at First Baptist Church where he was a member of the Charlie Norris Sunday School Class for more than 30 years. He served professionally as the Director of Institutional Services for the Alabama Department of Youth Services.

He was preceded in death by two sisters, Claudia Mueller and Elaine Mathews.

He is survived by his loving wife, Carol Booker; one son, Christopher Wayne Booker of Troy; three daughters, Wanda “Sissy” Blevins (Joe) of Phenix City, AL., Becky Davis (Manley) of Troy and Leann Boudin (Greg) of Covington, LA. Mr. Booker also is survived by two sisters; Faye Smith (Phil) of Guntersville, AL., and Gail Prince (Randy) of Powder Springs, GA.

He leaves behind six grandchildren; Meagan Floyd, Tyler Blevins, Gage Floyd, Brett Blevins, Quentin Boudin, Abbigail Boudin and one great-grandchild, Stone Shirah.

Serving as pallbearers will be Tyler Blevins, Gage Floyd, Brett Blevins, Jim Kent, James Hines and Jack Brown. Honorary pallbearers are the Charlie Norris Sunday School Class at First Baptist Church and the Central Office and Administrative Staff at the Alabama Department of Youth Services.

Flowers will be accepted or contributions can be made to the First Baptist Church of Troy at 200 West College Street, Troy AL., 36081.
