While their high school football careers officially ended last November, three former Charles Henderson Trojans will strap on shoulder pads and cleats one more time.

Joey Denison, Courtney Downing and Robert Lee will each take part in the Alabama High School Athletic Association All-Star Week later this month in Montgomery.

A total of 74 outstanding senior student-athletes from across the state have been named to North-South All-Star football squads for the 17th annual Alabama All-Star Sports Week competition in Montgomery July 15-19.

Denison, the 2012 Messenger Player of the Year, led the Trojans in nearly every defensive category. Serving as middle linebacker for the Trojans, Denison racked up 147 tackles, seven tackles for loss, one-and-a-half sacks, one interception and two fumble recoveries.

Joining Denison in Montgomery will be 2011 Messenger Player of the Year Courtney Downing, and dynamic wide reciever/defensive back Robert Lee.

Downing was the go-to running back for Charles Henderson throughout his tenure in the Trojan backfield.

Lee spent time on offense, defense and special teams during his tour of duty in orange and blue, garnering All-Area nods twice.

Kevin Rose of Bob Jones will serve as head coach for the North squad and Smitty Grider of Beauregard will coach the South.
