UPDATE: Suspect in custody after man killed at local club

A Troy man died early Saturday morning after an apparent altercation at a club.

Jacobi Jones, age unavailable, died after being stabbed during an incident that occurred around 2 a.m. at Club 29 on North Three Notch Street.

“We have a suspect in custody,” said Police Chief Jimmy Ennis. “And our investigators are still interviewing people, trying to figure out what exactly went wrong.”

Aquantis Kendarrel Thomas, 20, was arrested shortly before 10 a.m. Saturday and charged with murder. He was being held on $100,000 bond.

Ennis said Jones had been stabbed during what appears to have been an altercation. He was transported to a Montgomery hospital, where he later died. Ennis said Thomas also had been treated and released from a local hospital for injuries sustained in the incident.

Jones was a member of the Charles Henderson High School Class of 2011.
