Gerladine Williams

Mrs. Geraldine Williams passed away on November 29, 2011. Services will be held Tuesday, December 6, 2011 at 2 p.m. at Bethel Missionary Baptist Church in Troy with Rev. Dr. L. C. McMillian officiating. Interment will follow at New Mt. Pleasant Church Cemetery in Linwood under the direction of George F. Grubbs Funeral Home of Troy.

Mrs. Williams was born in Troy to the late Mr. and Mrs. James (Clara) Woods. She received and completed her education in Troy. Geraldine was married to Hennon Williams and to this union they had one daughter, Yolanda Gail Williams Maddox.

Geraldine moved to New York for many years and was affiliated with the Southern Baptist of New York City, New York. For health reason, she moved back to Alabama two years ago with her daughter, Yolanda. After a month’s stay in the hospital, the Lord called her home, at Jackson Hospital in Montgomery.

Geraldine was preceded in death by two sisters and two brothers.

She leaves to cherish her memories one very loving and devoted daughter, Yolanda Gail Williams Maddox; three sisters, Nettie Knox, Annie Dortha Davis, both of New York; and Annie Vera Woods, Troy; one brother, Jimmy Lewis Woods, Troy; two aunts, Katherine Rumps and Mary Andrews, Hamilton, OH; two grandchildren, Tamika Maddox and Roderick Maddox, both of Troy; three great grandchildren, Jaquashia Folmar, Tamya and LaTavion Johnson, all of Troy; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, relatives and many friends.
