CHHS to host tailgate party Friday

Charles Henderson High School and the Trojan cheerleading squad will be hosting a tailgate party prior to Friday’s second round football game against St. Paul’s.

The event will be held in the same location as the homecoming bonfire, between the school and the fire department directly in front of the 100 building on the campus of Charles Henderson High School.

This will be the third such event held by the school this season and according to cheer coach Michelle Armstrong is a great way to get every one together to show their school spirit.

“It is a great way to get everyone on campus before the game,” Armstrong said. “We want to encourage everyone to come wearing their orange and blue and cheer on the Trojans.”

The tailgate party will be from 4-6 p.m. and fans are encouraged to bring their own grill, food, tent and coolers.

The Trojan walk will begin at 5:15 with the team being greeted by fans from the Athletic Facility all the way to Veterans Memorial Stadium.

Due to school being dismissed in honor of Veterans Day on Friday, Charles Henderson will hold its pep rally Thursday at 2:45 p.m.

“Everyone is excited about this game and we want everyone to come enjoy the atmosphere,” said Armstrong.

Charles Henderson and St. Paul’s are set to kick off at 7 p.m. Friday.

The Trojans have never defeated St. Paul’s and earned their spot in the second round with a 21-14 overtime victory over Demopolis last week.
