Each year, the Fourth of July Parade in Meeksville honors one of its own as Grand Marshall of the Meeksville parade.

Alfred Alloway, of the Meeksville community, is being honored as the Grand Marshall of the 2025 Meeksville Parade.

Alloway is a longtime member of the Meeksville community and a longtime member of the Meeksville Volunteer Fire Department. He is now retired from Maxwell Air Force Base.

Alloway is honored to be the Grand Marshall of his hometown parade and thanks those who thought he is deserving of the honor.

The Pike County Fourth of July festivities got underway with a variety of activities in Brundidge on Saturday, June 28 that included a car show, arts and crafts, a parade and fireworks display.

The 2025 Pike County Fourth of July festivities will conclude at 8:30 p.m. Friday, July 4, 2025, with a Fireworks Extravaganza at Memorial Stadium. However, Troy’s amazing Fourth of July fireworks display can be seen at different locations throughout the county.

Wherever you go; whatever you do, Pike County officials and first responders encourage safety first and always.
