The Troy City Council District 5 election is now down to two running after a third withdrew from the race. 

Initially, incumbent councilwoman Wanda Moultry, Glenda Fayson and Carl Hollis all qualified for the District 5 race, but since that time Fayson has withdrawn from the race. 

The District 5 race will come down to Hollis and Moultry in the general election, in August. All other municipal elections were unopposed, meaning incumbents will earn another term. 

Mayor Jason Reeves, District 1 Councilwoman Sharon McSwain-Holland, District 2 Councilman Max Davis, District 3 Councilman Greg Meeks and District 4 Councilwoman Stephanie Baker were the only candidates to qualify in each of those elections.
