This weekend, three-star rated high school quarterback Anthony Coellner committed to continue his football career at Troy University.

Coellner is not only the first quarterback commitment Troy has landed in the Class of 2026 but he’s also the first out-of-state high school commitment Troy has earned in this class. Coellner is a 6-foot-2-inch, 190-pound Carmel, Indiana native that is rated as a three-star quarterback by 247Sports. He’s also rated as the No. 121 quarterback in the country and No. 28 overall prospect in Indiana.

As a junior, Coellner threw for 1,896 yards and 18 touchdowns in just eight games. He holds offers from all over the country, including from schools like Bowling Green, Cincinnati, Indiana, Maryland, Minnesota, West Virginia and Yale.

Troy Football has been on fire in recent weeks with commitments from the high school and junior college (JUCO) ranks. Coellner joins the list of high school commitments for the 2026 recruiting class that also includes Florence cornerback Jaxon Penn, Carver-Montgomery athlete Kendarius Reynolds, Faith Academy lineman Jaxon Williams, Helena kicker Austin Lewis, Williamson defensive lineman Dontaye Bush, Dothan offensive lineman Aden Jackson, Vestavia Hills offensive lineman Parks Glaze, Auburn offensive lineman Trinton Pritchett and Gulf Shores tight end Nick Hampton.

Troy’s JUCO commitments include Itawamba Community College offensive tackle Amar Harper, Co-Lin defensive lineman Rakeeem Davis, and Co-Lin safety Doug Nelson.
