The Mehaffey family is struggling with the total loss of their workshop in a fire.
Cera Mehaffey said her husband, Rick’s, shop in Pike County was destroyed by fire on June 23. She said he lost his truck, tools, vehicle titles and everything else in the shop in the fire. She said they were fortunate firefighters were able to keep the fire from spreading to their nearby home.
Cera said she was a teacher, so she and Rick are facing some tough times until she goes back to work in the fall.
“Everything he had to make money was in that shop,” Cera Mehaffey said. “We’re kind of at rock bottom now. But, you can only go so far down, before you go back up again.”
The Mehaffey’s currently have no income and are reaching out the community for a little help until they can get back on their feet.
