Gas prices fall slightly nationwide

Heading into the Fourth of July holiday weekend, gas prices declined a little nationwide.
Last Monday, the national average for a gallon of regular gas was $3.20. That price fell to $3.18 nationwide on Monday.
In Alabama, the state average fell 5-cents to $2.80 per gallon, down from last week’s $2.85.
On Monday, GasBuddy.com reported prices in Troy ranging from a low of $2.83 to a high of $2.99. Prices in surrounding towns were: Ozark, $2.53 to $2.74; Luverne $2.96 to $2.97, Union Springs reported at $2.89; Dothan ranged from $2.54 to $2.67; Montgomery ranged from $2.49 to $2.55.
Last Monday, GasBuddy.com reported prices in Troy ranging from a low of $2.81 to a high of $2.95. Prices in surrounding towns were: Ozark, $2.59 to $2.79; Luverne no reported prices, Union Springs reported at $2.99; Dothan ranged from $2.63 to $2.75; Montgomery ranged from $2.69 to $2.70.
Nationally, Alabama had one of the lowest averages in the nation with $2.88. Prices in contiguous states were: Mississippi, $2.71; Tennessee, $2.78; Georgia, $2.93 and Florida, $2.95.
The highest recorded average price per gallon for regular in Alabama was $4.63 on June 14, 2022.
