The Brundidge Volunteer Fire Department responded to a structure fire on Monday afternoon.

Brundidge Fire Chief Austin Turner said the call came in at 12:50 p.m. and the BVFD was dispatched to a structure fire on Cactus Lane. Turner said upon arrival, firefighters encountered a mobile home fully engulfed in flames.

Turner said firefighters requested mutual aid from the Troy Fire Department and Spring Hill Volunteer Fire Department. Turner said it took fire crews several hours to contain and extinguish the fire. Turner said the structure was a total loss.

There were no injuries reported and the fire is still under investigation, Turner said.

“We are grateful for the swift response and cooperation from the Spring Hill and Troy fire departments,” Turner said. “Their dedication and teamwork were instrumental in managing this difficult incident. Our thoughts are with the homeowners as they recover from this loss.”
