The Troy Trojans have had a busy June in the recruiting world and added a new commitment from Florence cornerback Jaxon Penn on June 25.

Penn is a 5-foot-10-inch, 175-pound athlete from Mars Hill Bible School in Florence and is rated as a three-star cornerback by 247Sports. He’s also rated as the No. 58 overall prospect in Alabama by 247Sports. Penn tallied 57 tackles, two interceptions and six pass breakups as a junior last season. He also allowed no touchdowns and was targeted just six times through 10 games.

Penn committed to Troy over offers from other schools like Air Force, Army, Austin Peay, Navy, Samford and UAB. Troy’s high school commitments in the Class of 2026 now includes Penn, Carver-Montgomery athlete Kendarius Reynolds, Faith Academy Jaxon Williams, Helena kicker Austin Lewis, Williamson defensive lineman Dontaye Bush, Dothan offensive lineman Aden Jackson, Vestavia Hills offensive lineman Parks Glaze, Auburn offensive lineman Trinton Pritchett and Gulf Shores tight end Nick Hampton. All of Troy’s high school commitments thus far are in-state recruits.

Troy also added another junior college (JUCO) commitment earlier this week as Itawamba Community College offensive tackle Amar Harper committed to the Trojans. The 6-foot-6-inch, 315-pound lineman is a Magee, Miss., native and earned All-Conference honors last season. He committed to Troy over offers from other schools like Southern Miss and New Mexico State.

Troy’s JUCO commitments include Co-Lin defensive lineman Rakeem Davis, Butler Community College tight end JT Tang, Central Georgia Tech bandit Jordan Ferrell, Co-Lin safety Doug Nelson, Trinity Valley offensive tackle Tra’Jon Townsend and Harper.
