The Indoor Football League is in the midst of its 2025 season and a number of former Troy Trojans litter league rosters.
The IFL was founded in 2009 after a merger of two smaller indoor football leagues following the first closing of the Arena Football League (AFL). The IFL is currently made up of 14 teams from around the country, including some legacy teams from the original AFL. IFL games are broadcasted nationally on CBS Sports Network and through its paid subscription service, IFL Network.
During the 2025 season, the Jacksonville Jaguars have been overflowing with Trojans. Receivers Marcus Rogers and Khalil McClain are currently on the Sharks roster, while quarterback Kaleb Barker started the season as Jacksonville’s starter.
Rogers played at Troy from 2020 through 2023, catching 25 passes for 331 yards during his Trojan career. So far this season, the 6-foot-4-inch receiver has caught 27 passes for 246 yards and five touchdowns.
McClain played at Troy from 2019 through 2020, after transferring from Tulane. He caught 77 passes for 945 yards and 13 touchdowns during his Troy career. A serious leg injury more than two years ago nearly ended his career but McClain was signed by the Sharks early in the 2025 season.
Barker played for the Sharks during the 2024 season and led the Northern Arizona Wranglers to an IFL Championship in 2022. He started this season as the Sharks’ starting quarterback, starting the first seven games. He completed 75-of-132 passes for 914 yards, 17 touchdowns and nine interceptions. He also rushed for 246 yards and eight touchdowns.
Barker led Jacksonville to a 59-27 win on May 17 but did not play in the subsequent two games following and was released on June 5.
Former Trojan receiver Deshon Stoudemire is a starting receiver for the Northern Arizona Wranglers. Stoudemire played at Troy from 2021 through 2023, hauling in 107 passes for 1,399 yards and five touchdowns during that time. Stoudemire currently leads the Wranglers with 56 catches for 637 yards and seven touchdowns. His receptions are tied for third in the league, while his yardage ranks fifth in the IFL.
Another Trojan in the IFL is Zachary Branner of the Tulsa Oilers. Branner played at Troy from 2015 through 2018 on the offensive line. He’s also an indoor football veteran, having played for the Frisco Fighters in 2024.
