All incumbents for the upcoming Troy Municipal Elections have qualified, while there are two challengers for the incumbent in District 5.

Troy Mayor Jason Reeves remains the only candidate to qualify for the mayor election, while all five of the Troy City Council members have also qualified. Incumbent Sharon McSwain-Holland has qualified for District 1, Greg Meeks has qualified for District 2, Max Davis has qualified for District 3 and Stephanie Baker has qualified for District 4. There are currently no challengers in any of those districts.

In District 5, incumbent Wanda Moultry has qualified along with challengers Glenda Fayson and Carl Hollis.

Potential candidates must file a declaration of candidacy with the city along with a $50 qualification fee by June 24 at 5 p.m. Qualification fees must be paid to the Troy City Clerk and deposited in the general fund of the city at – or prior to- the time of taking out qualification papers by any candidate. Candidates also must file a Statement of Economic Interests form with the Alabama Ethics Commission. If that is not completed within the five days, the name cannot appear on a ballot until they re-qualify and submit the form. General elections will take place in August.
