Pioneer Museum offering free admission on July 4

The Pioneer Museum of Alabama invites all those who love America to “Celebrate Freedom and Community” at the museum from 9 a.m. until 5 p.m. on Friday, July 4, admission is free!
Barbara Tatom, museum director, said the Pioneer Museum is excited to offer free admission to all ages on July 4, in acknowledgement of the freedoms that, we as Americans, enjoy and in honor of those who gave and continue to give and ensure those freedoms for us.

“The museum will be open throughout the day and we encourage all those who come to take time to enjoy the exhibits inside the museum and also tour the grounds,” Tatom said. “The steam engine has recently been painted and everyone enjoys seeing it. The Rolling Store is ready for viewing and the Old Country Store should be open.

“From 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., everyone will be invited to join us for ice cream and fellowship then continue to tour the museum.”

The Pioneer Museum of Alabama will close at 5 p.m. on the Fourth of July.
“We, at the museum, are looking forward to our Fourth of July celebration and hope that it will be a fun and memorable time for everyone,” Tatom said.

The museum’s regular hours 9 a.m. until 5 p.m. Wednesday through Saturday.
