The Pike Count Commission will hold a public hearing regarding a submission for a Community Development Block grant for a resurfacing project.

The commission will hold the public hearing Monday, June 23, at 5:15 p.m. in the auditorium of the Pike County Courthouse Annex (the Pike County Health Department Building).

The commission plans to apply to the Alabama Department of Economic and Community Affairs for a Community Development Block Grant. The county’s application will propose a multi-road resurfacing project in various parts of the county.

The meeting will be held to make the public aware of the application, the scope of the application and to allow citizens an opportunity to express their opinion on the needs of the county.

The commission is seeking as much input as possible to determine the desire of the community as a whole as well as receive comments related to the CDBG application.

Any citizen who requires special assistance in attending or participating in the hearing should contact McKenzie Wilson, county administrator, at 334-566-6374 at least 48 hours prior to the hearing so arrangements can be made to accommodate specific needs, including interpreters, sign language provision or physical limitations in attending the hearing.
