Gas prices continue to fluctuate

The national gas price average continues its up and down trend by climbing two cents since last week.
The national average rose to $3.14 per gallon, up 2-cents from last week.
In Alabama, the rise in price was a little higher, climbing 4-cents to $2.76 per gallon from last week’s $2.72 average. Even though the price per gallon is up slightly, it’s much lower than last year’s $3.06 average for June 16, 2024.
On Monday, GasBuddy.com reported prices in Troy ranging from a low of $2.70 to a high of $2.75. Prices in surrounding towns were: Ozark, $2.54 to $2.69; Luverne ported at $2.87, Union Springs reported at $2.79; Dothan ranged from $2.57 to $2.69; Montgomery ranged from $2.46 to $2.65.
Last week, GasBuddy.com reported prices in Troy ranging from a low of $2.65 to a high of $2.85. Prices in surrounding towns were: Ozark, $2.59 to $2.69; Luverne ported at $2.87, Union Springs reported at $2.79; Dothan ranged from $2.50 to $2.64; Montgomery ranged from $2.52 to $2.64.
Nationally, Alabama had one of the lowest averages in the nation with $2.76. Prices in contiguous states were: Mississippi, $2.66; Tennessee, $2.70; Georgia, $2.86 and Florida, $2.94.
The highest recorded average price per gallon for regular in Alabama was $4.63 on June 14, 2022.
