The Pike County Commission approved the relocation of two polling places in Pike County.

The Precinct 9 polling location on U.S. Highway 29 at the Josie County Building was moved to Ramah Church on U.S. Highway 29, a short distance from the previous location at the county building.

The Precinct 5 and Precinct 28 polling locations in Needmore were moved from Needmore Voting Center No. 1 and Needmore Voting Center No. 2 (both located at 4162 County Road 7708) to nearby Williams Memorial Presbyterian Church on the Needmore Road.

There are still three polling locations commissioners have to address before the primary elections in the Spring of 2026 – Precinct 3 in China Grove, Precinct 20 at the Springhill Housing Authority and Precinct 31 at the Golden Satellite Building.

Commission Chairman Chad Copeland said the reasons for the relocation of the five polling locations varied and ranged from issues with roofs to the end of contracts. He said negotiations were ongoing to find suitable locations for the other three precincts.
