The Troy Regional Medical Center is one of 313 hospitals in the nation to be given a 5-star rating for quietness in a recent evaluation.
While Troy Regional is one of just 313 hospitals to receive the distinction in the country, it’s also one of just 12 in the State of Alabama to be given five stars, as well. The rating was the result of the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid (CMS) patient survey, a national standardized survey of hospital patients about their experience during a recent inpatient hospital stay. These surveys were completed between July 2023 and June 2024 and the data was updated on April 30, 2025.
“At Troy Regional, we understand that healing doesn’t happen in chaos,” said Troy Regional CEO Rick Smith. “A quiet, calm environment is essential to our patients’ recovery and well- being. Every effort we make to reduce noise in our hospital—whether during the day or at night—is a reflection of our commitment to compassionate, patient-centered care.”
The recognition for quietness is one of a number of distinctions Troy Regional has received this year. Earlier in 2025, Troy Regional was designated as a Top 100 Rural Hospital and Community Hospital in the country, the only hospital from Alabama to make the list. Troy Regional has also received the Women’s Choice Award for Best Hospital for emergency care and also received a 5-star rating for cleanliness. Troy Regional’s Wound Care and Hyperbaric Medicine Center also received Clinical Distinction and Excellence in Patience Satisfaction Awards.
