The Happy Shack food truck will be at the Troy Walmart this Saturday, June 7, in support of the Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals Fundraiser.

Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals raises money for children’s hospitals that helps fund research, critical life-saving treatments, pediatric medical equipment, child life services and financial assistance for families who would not otherwise be able to afford health services. Walmart and Sam’s Club raised more than $43 million for Children’s Miracle Network in 2024.

Happy Shack is looking to help with that as 10 percent of all of the proceeds they make this Saturday and next Saturday, while in the Walmart parking lot, will be donated to Children’s Miracle Network Hospital.

“Our support directly helps fund pediatric medial treatments, equipment and research that wouldn’t be possible otherwise, ensuring every child has a fighting chance at a healthy future,” Happy Shack, LLC owner Kia Jo Hussey said. “As a mom, I want to help every child I possibly can.”

This is Happy Shack’s second year of helping out with the benefit and Hussey said it’s a rewarding feeling for her.

“Supporitng Children’s Miracle network Hospitals feels incredibly rewarding and meaningful,” she said. “You know your contribution is making a real difference in the lives of children and their families during some of their most difficult moments. There’s a deep sense of purpose and compassion that comes with helping kids get the care they need to survive and thrive.”

Happy Shack is a Pike County based food truck that launched in March of 2024.

“We enjoy meeting so many new people and working hard to serve the amazing people of Troy and the surrounding areas,” said Hussey.

Those that come out to eat with Happy Shack will find some new menu items this summer, which includes a sorbet in fruit shells, smash burgers and 32-ounce fresh homemade lemonade. Hussey said Happy Shack is also bringing back their popular Mexican Street Corn Dip.

Happy Shack will be at the Troy Walmart June 7 and June 14 from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m. to support the Children’s Miracle Network Hospital fundraiser. Happy Shack will also be on hand for the Independence Fest and Car Show in Brundidge on June 28, beginning at 10 a.m.

Happy Shack can be found on Facebook for menu updates and locations.
