Former Pike Lib star Darryl Lee earns NCAA All-Regional honors

This week, former Pike Liberal Arts baseball star Darryl Lee earned NCAA All-Regional honors for his play during Bethune-Cookman’s NCAA Regional appearance in Tallahassee, Fla. 

Lee and the Bethune-Cookman Wildcats qualified for an NCAA Regional appearance for the first time since 2011 after winning the SWAC Championship. In the Tallahassee Regional, Bethune-Cookman was eliminated after losing to Florida State on May 30 and Northeastern on May 31. During the tournament, Lee earned a .333 batting average with a double and one run, while also earning nine putouts on defense with no fielding errors. 

Lee also earned All-SWAC Second-Team honors this season after boasting a .299 batting average with 13 doubles, a team-high five triples, nine home runs, 46 RBIs and 49 runs. He also earned 84 putouts and an assist. He held a .988 fielding percentage, committing just one error in 86 total chances. 

Lee is a Troy native and earned All-AISA honors as a senior at Pike Lib, helping the Patriots to a State Championship. He started his college career at Coastal Alabama Community College, hitting 12 homers as a sophomore. Lee still has one more year of college eligibility.
