The junior college (JUCO) ranks continues to be a source of talent for the Troy Trojans as the football team received two more JUCO commitments this weekend.

Trinity Community College offensive lineman Tra’Jon Townsend and Butler Community College tight end JT Tang both committed to Troy this weekend. Townsend is a Compton, Calif., native that was a star basketball and football player at Lawndale High School. He played both offensive and defensive line, registering 15 tackles, eight tackles-for-loss, four sacks and two interceptions as a senior on defense.

The 6-foot-5-inch, 280-pounder started his college career at Colorado State before transferring to Trinity Community College in Texas.

Tang is a native of Australia that only started playing football three years ago when he came to America. He started his college career at Laney College in California, catching four passes for 29 yards in four games. The 6-foot-6-inch, 265-pounder transferred to Butler Community College in the offseason and Troy was his very first Division I offer. Tang will become the first non-U.S. born Chinese football player to sign a FBS scholarship ever.

Troy has began loading up on JUCO commitments since the end of the spring. So far, Troy has earned commitments from Townsend, Tang, CoLin safety Doug Nelson and Central Georgia Tech defensive end Jordan Farrell.
