The theme of this year’s Summer Reading Program at the Troy Public Library is “Color Our World.”

“Friends of the Library is partnering, this summer with the West Walnut Cookie Co., to “color our world’ with a cookie or small ice cream cone.,” said Bonnie Sounders, Friends of the Library president.

“Every child who reads at least one book during the summer program will be given a goodie bag containing a coupon for a free treat’ from the Walnut Cookie Company bag containing a coupon for ‘a free treat f rom the West Walnut Cookie Co. among other treats.

Joyce Cooper, Friends treasurer, said all the young readers need to do to receive a free treat is go by the Friends of the Library Book Store and show a library volunteer their reading log before the end of the Summer Reading Program.

“School is out and the summer is always a good time to read, read, read,” Sounders and Cooper said.
“We are looking forward to seeing all young readers this summer during our summer reading program, ‘Color Our World.”
