“Today is a special day for all Americans,” said Post Commander Henry Middlebrooks. “As we pay tribute to those who gave their lives in service to their country, to our country, we also honor those who are serving today to keep alive the dreams of those who gave their all.”
Middlebrooks said on Memorial Day, it is good, and right, to recognize and express heartfelt thanks to those who were left behind. They should never be forgotten.
“We, as Americans, owe our freedom to those who gave their all,” said Middlebrooks. “That is a great debt to pay.”
Austin Turner is the youngest member of American Legion Post 2025.
“It’s an honor to serve my country and to stand with these men that would have died to keep us free,” Turner said.
Middlebrooks expressed appreciation to those who attended the Memorial Day Service.
“Today, we honor our fallen ‘heroes’ and pray that they will be remembered for their ultimate sacrifices,” he said. “God Bless America. Amen.”
