Former Pike County All-State softball star Amity White is coming home as she announced her decision to transfer to Troy University to continue her college career.
White started her college career at South Alabama, earning Academic All-America honors as a freshman in 2024. She played in 20 games as a freshman, earning a .222 batting average with two doubles, one homer, four RBIs and five runs. This past season, White started 44 games and held a .252 batting average with six doubles, one triple, 15 RBIs, 18 runs and three stolen base. She also held a .941 fielding percentage with 63 putouts and one assist in the outfield.
“I decided to come to Troy because it’s closer to home and I love what the program is about,” White said of her decision to transfer to Troy. “It is great to be back home. I have a lot of support here and the atmosphere is something I can definitely grow in.”
White is also setting her sights on some future goals with the Trojans.
“My goals for Troy are to win a conference championship and go to Regionals,” she said. “I know we will have the fight in us to bring one home this year.”
