Coming Home: Former Pike County star Amity White transferring to Troy

Former Pike County All-State softball star Amity White is coming home as she announced her decision to transfer to Troy University to continue her college career. 

White, a Brundidge native, earned All-State honors at Pike Liberal Arts School and also All-State as a senior at Pike County. As a senior, White also earned All-Messenger Player of the Year honors, boasting a .373 batting average with four doubles, two triples, 18 stolen bases, 28 runs and 12 RBIs. She also held a .949 fielding percentage with 36 putouts and one assist.

White started her college career at South Alabama, earning Academic All-America honors as a freshman in 2024. She played in 20 games as a freshman, earning a .222 batting average with two doubles, one homer, four RBIs and five runs. This past season, White started 44 games and held a .252 batting average with six doubles, one triple, 15 RBIs, 18 runs and three stolen base. She also held a .941 fielding percentage with 63 putouts and one assist in the outfield. 

“I decided to come to Troy because it’s closer to home and I love what the program is about,” White said of her decision to transfer to Troy. “It is great to be back home. I have a lot of support here and the atmosphere is something I can definitely grow in.”

White is also setting her sights on some future goals with the Trojans.

“My goals for Troy are to win a conference championship and go to Regionals,” she said. “I know we will have the fight in us to bring one home this year.”
