Sunday crash claims life of pedestrian Wiley N. Morse

A two-vehicle crash on May 25 claimed the life of a pedestrian when he was struck by a vehicle.
According to a release from the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency (ALEA), Troy resident Wiley N Morse, 47, was fatally injured when he was struck by a vehicle that failed to stop and left the scene. After the initial collision, Morse was then struck by a 2020 Nissan Altima driven by Anthony M. Hicks, 25, of Pansey. Morse was pronounced deceased at the scene.
The crash occurred at 8:20 p.m. on May 25, on U.S. Highway 231 near the 173-mile marker, approximately three miles south of Troy, in Pike County. ALEA’s Highway Patrol Division is investigating the crash. According to ALEA, the driver and type of vehicle that initially struck Morse are still unknown.
