Memorial Day is a special time for remembering those whose lives were given in service to and in love of America.
On Monday, May 26, at 11 a.m., American Legion Post 70 will host its annual Memorial Day Ceremony at Bicentennial Park in Troy.
Post Commander Bob McLendon said the speaker for this special remembrance service will be LTC John Holliday, a Cobra gunship pilot in Vietnam.
“The names of all those from Pike County whose lives were lost during military service from WWI through Iraqi Freedom will be read. There will also be times of other remembrances,” McLendon said.
“American Legion Post 70 invites and encourages all American patriots to come and help remember and honor all of America’s fallen. It is the right thing for us to do.”
