Summer Sports Camps beginning in Troy in June

Summer Camp season has arrived and with that comes a number of sports related camps in Troy, with many being hosted by Troy University. 

Troy Football Coach Gerad Parker will host his Battle Ready Kids Camp June 2-4. The non-contact skills camp is designed to give each athlete a solid foundation in the football fundamentals needed to excel at their position and some fun with the Troy football staff. Led by Coach Parker and his staff, each player will receive hands-on instruction as they participate in drills and practice simulating those in the Troy Trojan Football Program.

Camp runs from 9 a.m. until 3 p.m. on June 2-3 and from 9 a.m. until noon on June 4. The cost for camp is $125 per camper. For more information, or to sign-up, visit https://tinyurl.com/ym4s9ud9.

Pike Liberal Arts School will host a summer youth baseball camp for students in kindergarten through sixth grade on June 4. The camp will include baseball training and instruction along with a lunch and a slip and slide to end the day on a fun note. The camp runs from 8:30 a.m. until 4 p.m. and the cost is $50 per camper. Troy Women’s Basketball will host its Little Dribblers Kid’s Camp on June 2-5, geared towards students in the grades of Pre-K through seventh grade. This event is to teach the fundamentals of basketball to children wanting to take their skills to the next level. The cost to attend this camp is $125 per child. In addition, the Troy Women’s Elite camp will be offered on June 19 for students in grades 9-12. This camp will be beneficial to student athletes wanting to polish their basketball skills, while also giving advice for the recruitment process at the NCAA level. Then on June 23, a skills camp will be offered by women’s basketball for students in grades 5-12. The camp is designed to strengthen basketball fundamentals while having hands-on instruction. The Charles Henderson High School cheer team will be conducting a camp for those in K4-6 grade on June 10, 11, and 12. This camp is perfect for aspiring cheerleaders wanting to learn about cheers and even dance routines to one day become future Trojan cheerleaders. Troy Men’s Basketball will be hosting a series of camps throughout the summer for young men wanting to receive instructional coaching for the game of basketball from Troy Coach Scott Cross. The first camp of the summer will be conducted June 9-11 for those in the grade levels of 9-12. The cost to attend per person varies from $316.50 for one day, $475 for two days, and $607 for three days. Additionally, there will also be another event held on June 12-13 for those in the grade levels of 1-9. This will be a fun learning environment that will include drills, games, and even awards. The camp registration fee is $158.50, and there is a late fee of $183.50 if registering after the date of June 5. Troy University will host Youth Soccer Camps for boys and girls ages 4–13 on June 9–12 and July 21–24. Children will get the chance to train with college coaches on Troy’s soccer fields, working on their skills with fun drills and team games. The half-day camp for ages 4 to 6 will cost $195.50. Troy Volleyball will hold an All Skills Camp from July 11-12. The camp is for fourth graders through seniors. The camps will be held at Trojan Arena from 2:30 until 5 p.m. and 7 until 9 p.m. on July 11 and 9 until 11:30 a.m. and 1:30 until 4:30 p.m. on July 12.

The Troy University baseball team will be conducting a kids camp this summer. These camps will be held for kids of all genders in the grades of kindergarten through seventh grade on June 16-June 18 and again on July 14-16. The cost to attend these camps will be $192 per child. In addition, there will be a “Trojans Prospect Showcase” camp held on August 17 for young men to showcase their baseball talent. This opportunity allows for students in grades 9-12 and JUCO prospects to be scouted by collegiate coaches.
