The No. 25-ranked Troy Trojans will head to Montgomery this week as the No. 3 seed in the Sun Belt Conference Baseball Tournament.
After spending the vast majority of the regular season in every major college baseball poll, the Trojans peaked at No. 14 but this past weekend were swept by Southern Miss in the regular season finale. Following that series sweep, Troy fell out of both the D1Baseball and USA Today polls and also fell from No. 14 to No. 25 in the Baseball America Top 25.
Still, Troy finished the regular season with a 37-19 record and an 18-12 record in the Sun Belt, winning all but one conference series. Troy was the only team left in the country to have won all conference series going into this past weekend.
As the No. 3 seed in the Sun Belt Tournament, Troy will play Old Dominion in the second round on May 21 at 9 a.m. The tournament is a double-elimination style tournament that will conclude with the conference championship on May 25. Last season, Troy was eliminated on day four. All games will be played at Riverwalk Stadium in Montgomery and will stream on ESPN+.
