The “coolest place in town,” during the summer months is the Colley Senior Complex on Elm Street in Troy.

Of course, it’s the place to be year around, said Catherine Jordan, center director. However, seniors are invited to spend those long, hot days of summer enjoining fun and fellowship with friends at the center.

“The Colley Senior Complex is the place for seniors throughout the year,” Jordan said. ‘But, when its summertime, most seniors enjoy spending time doing fun and learning things with their friends. Where the air conditioner is!”

Every day, there are entertaining activities to enjoy and every Wednesday “fun learning” is going on.

The Colley Senior Complex is a-buzz rather early in the day. Aerobics gets seniors up and going at 8 a.m. and prepares them for full “speed ahead” during the day.

There is a class for those who are just learning to “make something” with a needle and thread or those whose desire is to “sew on a machine.”

Dominoes and cards are the most popular table games and “we could play all day,” is the prevalent attitude.

Mary Page’s art class is open throughout the day for those who are new to painting and those who already have an original painting to “brag about a bit.”

Jordan said that the Colley Senior Complex is a fun-learning place and all seniors are welcome to come share the fun and learning with friends and neighbors during the days of summer.

“Come visit again and again,” Jordan said. “We’re here for fun and learning and both are ‘fun!”
